Godspell @ Oak Grove Theater

This week and until the 17th, I'll be playing guitar in Oak Grover Theater's production of Godspell.  You have to buy season tickets to see the show (and the season is half over) so maybe just wish my leg broken!

SAB Snow White DVD's are on their way!

I've finished duplicating, labeling, and stuffing DVD cases!  I'm in the process of printing shipping labels and getting the DVDs ready to ship.  They should be in the mail tomorrow (06/26) or sooner, depending on how long it takes me to finish this post!

Sell digital goods with no upfront costs!

I am very excited about offering downloads of my client's videos, starting with Staunton Academy of Ballet's Spring Recital, Snow White.  I had to do some serious searching for a file hosting service that wouldn't charge an arm and/or leg to host the actual files.  I obviously don't mind a hosting service taking a cut of my profits, but some sites like Shopify, Bunndle, or Bluesnap want a subscription fee up-front and lure you in with phony "free to try" offers.  Other options would require me to create a separate website for my downloads

Enter Digital Goods Store...

I found this great service (Digital Goods Store) that uses Amazon Cloud storage and only charges a 5% service fee for unlimited uploads (max. of 2GB each).  They provide you with Javascript and standard HTML script link options as well as direct links and a "view cart" script as well.  It's linked up with PayPal, too!  It's a great, cheap way to get your digital downloads to market.  The only problem is that not many people are downloading my videos!  Come on, folks!  Download individual scenes in HD!  It's easy and a great way to preview the DVD!  Click here to view my downloads.

Digital Downloads Ahoy!

I'm getting the videos rendered and uploaded to a site called Digital Goods Store.  I've got the information piped through my website.  Visit my website and click on the Digital Download Store link above or just click here:

Testing, testing, digital order form...

Hey!  Check out my order form I made using Wufoo!  If you've never heard of it, you're missing out!  It's a great platform for making forms and collecting data.  the only downside is that it's limited (unless of course you want to pay crazy amounts of money).

The order form is for SAB's Spring Ballet.  In addition to ordering the DVD (which you can do so here)

Here's the link to the order form embedded in my website.  Below I've directly embedded the form:

Fill out my online form.

The Modern Prometheus @ Stuart Hall School

Stuart Hall's drama department is putting on a student-authored re-telling of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, entitled 'The Modern Prometheus" after Shelley's own secondary title.  I have been asked to film and edit this production for the school.  It should be a great show.  I will be filming the final dress rehearsal this Thursday, May 16.  The actual performances are on Friday and Saturday, both at 7:30pm, door open at 7:00pm.  Be sure to check it out!

SAB's Spring Ballet is Available for Pre-Order

The DVD is available for pre-order, but I'm offering something new this year...

I'm all about quality, and frankly, the DVD format (originally introduced almost 20 years ago) is not cutting the mustard, so to speak.  The files are huge and the quality is not there.  I've been trying to stay away from Blu-ray because it's expensive to produce and even more time consuming.  It's easy to create an HD (that's 720p) MP4 file in a fraction of the time and with less hard disk space.

The problem is delivery.  How do I get the files to my customers?  I would love to do a digital download, and I have found an easy solution for delivering files.  I also want to make individual clips available for download as well, so here's my thinking:

You (the customer) fill out a request form on my website asking for a specific section of the ballet or the entire performance or just Act I or whatever.  I give you a price, let's say $5.00 for one dance, $10.00 for an Act and $15.00 for the whole enchilada.  You pay me via a PayPal money request that I send you and then I send you a link to download the file!  Viola!  It is kind of a lengthy process, but everyone gets what they want and I don't have to render any individual files that ends up ordering.

If this thing takes of in any meaningful way I will make the process more automated.
