BelleVille, my new band!

Hello there world wide network of personal computer users! My band, BelleVille, will be playing at Beer Run on Sunday, May 9th. We are Melissa, Mike, and Andrew. Melissa plays keys and sings, Mike plays guitar and bass and sings, and I play guitar and sing. We perform an eclectic mix of originals/covers that span genre and all of space and time, frequently exhibiting characteristics that are dimensionally transcendental.

New stuff

I've posted some new music, including a new song, A Call to Remembrance. So, that's that. I've finished my choral trio using selections of Ezra Pound poetry. Check it out in the "Download My Music" section.

Garden, Ho!

I've started a garden. Yes, it's true. While you may perceive me to be a wild, care-free spirit who makes his own rules, I am, in reality, a 72-year-old retiree named Bea.

Gardening--it's not just for old folks anymore! Just like everything else, when the younger generation discover things of yore and claim it for our own (vinyl records, Absinthe, and handkerchiefs, just to name a few) we tend to do it way better and with more modesty.

And so the adventure begins. We decided to do a raised bed with fencing to keep out weeds and pests (like deer, the giant rats of the forest). The beds have been divided into square feet with thin strips of treated wood. Check it out!

Random thought: love and relationships

In long-term emotional relationships, most men and women have different emotional priorities. Men want to be respected; women want to be loved. As caring human beings, we demonstrate what we want to receive. But what we demonstrate is often a secondary emotional need for our partner. Men need to demonstrate more love to their woman, and women need to show their respect and support.

Don't feel like reading that? Here's a quick breakdown:

Men: Get your woman some flowers and profess your undying love for her
Women: Try not to make your man feel like a giant idiot all the time

My first post! Will it be my last?

I'm sure that even now as I am writing this, I will read this later with bemusement. I love starting things and not finishing them. You know what I'm talking about. You probably have a half-eaten sandwich in your basement somewhere. Your unfinished basement.

Anyway, I started this blog to post my music for my friends, family, and band members. If anyone stumbles upon it and enjoys it, so be it. That will probably not happen, though. Let's see if I can even figure out how to setup a third party web host for my music. Let the fun (or total lack thereof) begin!
