New webstore

I've been using this web store service creatively named freewebstore.org for a client or two. It's got a simple to use, intuitive interface. You should check it out if you are interested in starting a small online business.

I've decided to start up an online store for myself, selling products that I have made (all of them are DVD's). You can visit my nifty store by going to store.studiomac.info or if you want to visit the store without it being embedded into my site, you can visit freewebstore.org/studiomac.

-Update- (4/14/12)

I had embedded the web store (which is hosted via the aforementioned freewebstore.org) within my own flash-based site (hosted by Wix) using an iframe. I have since discovered (thanks to a client that tried to purchase something off the store) that iframes do not support secure checkout services like PayPal or Skrill. So with the help of a little website magic I have fixed the problem, but the store is no longer embedded within my studiomac.info site.

If anyone knows how to fix this issue, let me know!

Need some free background music for your video?

It was a struggle trying to write background music for my videos that sounded good enough- didn't fit the mood, I wasn't having a good day in the studio, etc. So out of desperation I googled "royalty free music" and the first link was as sent from heaven- freeplaymusic.com.

They have a lot of music to choose from, and not all of it is good, unless you are editing a sports training montage in the early 90's or a poignant moment from Saved by the Bell. The interface is a little Web 1.0 and wonky, but it works.

That brings me to my next point- they are experimenting with a new site layout: live.freeplaymusic.com. It's not perfect, but it looks a lot better and has a descent search feature. It's kind of difficult to figure out the navigation, but once you do, it's pretty smooth sailing.

So, how do these dudes make money? Well...there is a good amount of material on the site that costs $0.99 per track, similar to iTunes, except it falls under a royalty free licence, so use it in your videos and whatnot!

Happy creating!
